WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. – The Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Association has released initial information for its 2019 WVCA Spring Clinic, scheduled for Sunday, April 28, and Monday, April 29, at JustaGame Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells.
This will be the second consecutive year the WVCA will host its Spring Clinic in Wisconsin Dells, and hopes to build of last year’s successful trial run. However, this year’s event is moved to the last week of April and will take place over a Sunday-Monday timeframe.
“We polled the membership and found that for teachers specifically, it is likely easier taking off a Monday in April than a Friday in May,” WVCA Executive Director Jay Messar said. “This timeframe will also allow for Division I coaches to return to the presentation schedule, and help keep travel costs such as hotels and event venues low. We are also cognizant of those coaches with spring sport duties; this brutal winter has already impeded on regularly scheduled events and will force an abundance of makeup dates that would likely conflict with a regular weekend event.”
Registration for the two-day event is now available on the WVCA homepage, www.wisvca.org, or found on the Forms section of the Resources tab.
Cost for a single coach at this year’s clinic will once again be $85—however, any coach within the same program may attend for an additional $50 per coach.
“We’ve found success with this multiple-registration-discount model with our general membership, and we are excited to implement it with our clinic this Spring,” Messar said. “By keeping the weekend costs affordable, we hope this will attract assistant coaches, youth coaches, and even administrators to witness some of our state’s top talented coaching minds.”
The WVCA also worked out a very competitive hotel rate of $79.95 for Sunday night at the AmericInn Lodge & Suites, just down the road from the event venue. Attendees are highly encouraged to make their reservations early, as this block of rooms will be available until Monday, April 1.
The 2019 Spring Clinic will coincide with the organization’s annual WVCA Hall of Fame & Coaches Awards Banquet. This year’s banquet will kick off the clinic (through a separate event registration) on Sunday afternoon. More information about both the Hall of Fame Banquet and the Spring Clinic will be released over the next few weeks.
