Division 1
The final weeks of the season have provided some conference-title showdowns in Division 1. In a matchup for the Classic Eight crown last Tuesday, Arrowhead swept Oconomowoc to also take over the top spot in Division 1 in Week 7. The Raccoons’ second loss of the season was enough to hold on to No. 2, ahead of Brookfield Central, who already clinched at least a share of the Greater Metro title. The Lancers will get a chance to win the GMC outright against No. 7 DSHA on Thursday. River Falls has wrapped up the Big Rivers title at No. 4, while Watertown swept its Badger Conference Crossover slate this past weekend to improve to No. 5.
Division 2
The Lutheran tandem from Lake Country and Lakeside continued their reign atop the Division 2 poll, holding steady again in Week 7. A third Lutheran, in the form of Wisconsin Lutheran, jumped one spot to No. 3 this week after battling with some south-suburban heavyweights at the Westosha Smash. Platteville has already wrapped up a league title at No. 4, while McFarland’s month-long winning streak landed the Spartans at No. 5 for the second straight week.
Division 3
There isn’t much else to say about Howards Grove and Waterloo, who continued their dominance in the Division 3 poll. Grantsburg, which improved to 25-4 after a runner-up finish at the Altoona Invite, hopes to push for another West Lakeland title Tuesday with a showdown against league unbeaten and No. 9 Saint Croix Falls. Stratford and Aquinas held off Cloverbelt West champion Fall Creek to remain in the top five in the Week 7 poll.
Division 4
Clear Lake is the last remaining unbeaten team in Division 4, and claims its third week atop the coaches poll. McDonell Central has pieced together a battle-tested resume and leaped defending champion Catholic Central for the No. 2 spot in Week 7. The Hilltoppers, with an equally difficult regular season schedule, lost their second match in league play Tuesday to Kenosha St. Joseph’s and will need to beat Dominican Tuesday to share second place in the Metro Classic. Columbus Catholic held on at No. 4, while Indianhead champion Mercer jumped four spots to No. 5 in this penultimate D4 poll.
