Division 1

Arrowhead will retain its top ranking in Division 1 heading into the postseason after finishing with a perfect 5-0 record at its home tournament last weekend. Oconomowoc finished runner-up to the Warhawks Saturday and hangs on to a near-unanimous No. 2 spot in the final coaches poll. River Falls moved up one spot to No. 3, edging new No. 4 and Greater Metro co-champ Divine Savior Holy Angels. Burlington looks primed for its sixth straight trip to Green Bay, sweeping its Southern Lakes Tournament slate and bouncing back into the top five at No. 5.

Division 2

In what was a pretty wild early season race for the top five spots in the coaches poll, the back half of the season has steadied out considerably. For the third straight week, Lake Country Lutheran and Lakeside Lutheran finished No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. Wisconsin Lutheran’s runner-up finish at the Woodland Conference Tournament held the Vikings at No. 3 in Week 8. In essentially a three-way tie, Rock Valley champ McFarland slipped past Platteville for the No. 4 spot, while the Hillmen held off Edgewood at No. 5. With all three teams in the same half-sectional, it should make for a very interesting postseason in the Madison area.

Division 3

Howards Grove and Waterloo have battled some of the best competition in the state all season long, and at No. 1 and No. 2 in the final coaches poll, look primed to make a deep postseason run. Fall Creek has quietly pieced together an impressive 36-3 record en route to a Cloverbelt West title, and leaped into the No. 3 spot this week. Aquinas and Stratford flipped spots at No. 4 and No. 5 in this last week of the year, as both will take top seeds into regional play Thursday.

Division 4

Top-ranked Clear Lake will take its unblemished 31-0 regular season record into regional play this week. Lurking in the bottom half of that same half-sectional is McDonell Central, which holds strong in the No. 2 spot for the second straight week. It could set up quite a matchup should both teams reach next week’s sectional semifinals. With a brutal regular season schedule of its own, defending D4 champion and No. 3 Catholic Central also looks for a deep postseason run. Columbus Catholic held strong at No. 4 this week, while Scenic Bluffs champion Hillsboro has steadily rose up the rankings to finish the season at No. 5.
