Burlington, Catholic Memorial enter top five rankings

In a week that featured some impressive major tournament results, only some minor shakeups among respective divisions followed suit in the WVCA Week 5 Coaches Poll.

Burlington's impressive West Bend SPRAWL championship was this week's biggest riser, vaulting the Demons from No. 10 to No. 4. Oconomowoc remained in the top position, while Appleton North and DSHA remained separated by mere votes at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. No. 5 River Falls rounded out the top five.

In what has become a very tight Division 2 field, Luxemburg-Casco hung on to the top spot for the fifth straight week. No. 2 Sauk Prairie, No. 3 Edgewood, and No. 4 McFarland each earned a first-place vote for the third straight week. No. 5 Catholic Memorial entered the top five for the first time this season at No. 5.

Despite dropping a head-to-head matchup to Lake Country Lutheran over the weekend, Howards Grove remained at No. 1 again in Week 5. The Lightning, however, leapt over Fall Creek to snag the No. 2 spot, just ahead of the No. 3 Crickets. Randolph and Oconto also switched places, entering at No. 4 and No. 5 in Week 5.

Perhaps the least active division rankings took place in Division 4, where Turtle Lake remained No. 1 for the third straight week. No. 2 Three Lakes, No. 3 Catholic Central, No. 4 McDonell Central, and No. 5 Monticello remained in order.
