Sauk Prairie joined Oconomowoc, Howards Grove, and Turtle Lake as top-ranked teams of their respective divisions in the WVCA Week 6 Coaches Poll, released Tuesday.
Very little change occurred in Division 1 this week as Oconomowoc remained the frontrunner among the big schools. Appleton North, Divine Savior Holy Angels, and Burlington remained in positions 2-4, and River Falls hung on to the No. 5 spot again this week.
The biggest news of the Week 6 poll took place atop Division 2, where Sauk Prairie overthrew Luxemburg-Casco for No. 1. The Spartans fell one spot, remaining ahead of another Spartan--that of new No. 3 McFarland. Edgewood and Catholic Memorial rounded out the top five.
Howards Grove remains the final No. 1 to remain in that position since Week 1, doing so in convincing fashion in Week 6. No. 2 Lake Country Lutheran and No. 3 Fall Creek each received at least one first place vote, while Oconto and Randolph flipped positions to No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.
In what was a pretty quiet week of activity among the small schools, Turtle Lake remained No. 1 in Week 6. Three Lakes, Catholic Central, McDonell Central remained Nos. 2-4, while Columbus Catholic overtook Monticello for the No. 5 spot.
