APPLETON, Wis. – A trio of coaches, pair of players, and one official headline the Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fame Class of 2022.
Entering the WVCA Hall of Fame as coaches are Mary Beth Dixon, who enters her 35th year overall and 21st at Manitowoc Lincoln after previous stops at Cuba City and Park Falls; Burlington-area volleyball guru Patti Halbach, who led Catholic Central to numerous WISAA postseason honors; and Cathy Newton, who just last year retired from coaching after 37 years at the helm of Wausau West. Together, the three combine for a whopping 87 years (and counting!) of head coaching in the state of Wisconsin.
The WVCA has selected three others to join Dixon, Halbach, and Newton in the Class of 2022. Pius XI and University of Texas alumnae and sisters Nikki & Carrie Busch represent the second batch of athletes inducted into the WVCA Hall of Fame, joining 2021 inductees Simone Lee and Aubrey Meierotto. Fellow Milwaukee-area native Keith Marx is the second Hall of Fame representative of Wisconsin-based officials, joining Harry Babcock’s induction last fall.

The Class of 2022 will be inducted at the annual WVCA Hall of Fame Banquet on Saturday, August 6 at the Holiday Inn Appleton. Friends, family, and fans alike are welcome to attend. Registration for the banquet can be found below.
The Hall of Fame Banquet will coincide with the 2022 WVCA Coaches Clinic, this year taking place on Friday & Saturday, August 5 & 6 at Community First Champion Center in Appleton.
