Sauk Prairie, Columbus Catholic take over top spots

For the first time all season, we have two new No. 1 ranked teams in the WVCA Coaches Poll. Sauk Prairie and Columbus Catholic assumed those top spots in Division 2 and 4, respectively, joining Oconomowoc and Howards Grove as No. 1s in Week 6.

Division  1 remained relatively calm as the top five seemed to have settled in. Oconomwoc, Divine Savior Holy Angels, and Appleton North went 1-2-3 again this week, while Hamilton and Burlington flipped spots at No. 4 and No. 5.

Division 2 saw Sauk Prairie, at 30-2 overall, dethrone five-time No. 1 Xavier this week as the Hawks fell to No. 2. Luxemburg-Casco, Fox Valley Lutheran, and Kettle Moraine Lutheran rounded out the top five as Pewaukee fell out of the top five.

Howards Grove was No. 1 yet again, holding strong over No. 2 Saint Croix Falls, No. 3 Randolph, and No. 4 Brodhead. Lake Country Lutheran climbed back into the top five this week at No. 5.

The Dons of Columbus Catholic come in at No. 1 with a 31-3 overall mark, overtaking Athens in the Week 6 poll. The Bluejays dropped a pair at their Marawood Conference crossover Saturday. Not far behind is No. 3 McDonell Central who has played one of the toughest schedules in D4. Rounding out the top five are Monticello and Mercer, who rejoins the top five for the first time since Week 2.
