MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Association announced a record-breaking 1,177 student-athletes earned WVCA All-Academic Individual honors for the 2022 Fall Season.
The 2022-23 season also saw record growth for the WVCA membership, almost half of which--116 schools--submitting submitting All-Academic Individual honors.
Member-schools from across the state whose student-athletes earned a grade point average of 3.500 for the fall semester (or equivalent term for which they competed), were eligible for WVCA All-Academic Individual honors. All varsity student-athletes who qualified receive this award--there is no outside "vote" or other qualification.
The WVCA also recognized individuals of a boys program for the first time, welcoming nine Red Raiders from Wauwatosa East as the first-ever All-Academic Individual boys honorees.
The All-Academic Team nomination, which encapsulates a cumulative team GPA of 3.400 or greater for the entire 2022-23 academic year, is now available. Coaches should submit those via the Members section of the WVCA website.
