The WVCA Week 2 Coaches Poll may have been delayed due to the Labor Day weekend, but it wasn't without some fireworks atop Division 3.
Division 1 remained relatively unchanged with DSHA and Oconomowoc entering 1-2 in Week 2. Appleton North was a near-unanimous No. 3, while Manitowoc Lincoln and Arrowhead--despite neither playing match--swapped places at No. 4 and No. 5.
Xavier has surged out to an impressive 15-1 mark to secure the top spot in Division 2 in Week 2, ahead of No. 2 Pewaukee for the second straight week. Fox Valley Lutheran held at No. 3, while NEC foe Luxemburg-Casco and Bloomer exchanged positions at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.
Undoubtedly the biggest story of Week 2 came in Division 3, where for the first time since the Week 4 poll in 2019, Howards Grove was dethroned from the No. 1 spot. Snapping the Tigers' impressive 23-week run was the team they faced in last year's final, St. Croix Falls, who takes over from No 2 last week. McDonell Central also moved up one position to No. 3, with Lake Country Lutheran and Laconia rounding out the top five.
In Division 4, Prentice has benefited from a busy start by playing some strong competition, resuming its No. 1 ranking in Week 2. Columbus Catholic is right behind the Bucs at No. 2, with Royall making a big leap to No. 3. Wabeno/Laona fell to No. 4, landing just ahead of No. 5 Athens as both will play in a big non-conference dual matchup on September 14.
