Divine Savior Holy Angels impresses on the national stage, while Xavier, St. Croix Falls, and Columbus Catholic remain near-unanimous selections atop respective divisions in the WVCA Week 6 Coaches Poll.

DSHA's perfect season may have come to an end, but the Dashers truly impressed on a national stage with a third place finish at the prestigious Asics Challenge, hosted by Chicago's Mother McAuley High School. DSHA, this week's top team in Division 1, fell to the host and eventual champion Mighty Macs in the semifinal before blitzing perennial power Assumption (Ky.) in the third place matchup. Joining DSHA in the tournament Gold Bracket was Greater Metro rival Hamilton, who dropped a tight five-set thriller to the Dashers earlier in the week. The Chargers took home eighth place overall at the Asics Challenge and held on to the No. 5 spot, behind top-five regulars Oconomowoc, Appleton North, and Manitowoc Lincoln.

Division 2 saw two minor changes within the top five this week. Xavier was not one of those changes as unanimous No. 1 for the sixth straight week this season. Pewaukee's impressive pair of weeks in sweeping the Sprawl Play-in, then locking up an always-impressive Woodland West division title Tuesday moved the Pirates back to No. 2, displacing Fox Valley Lutheran. Additionally, Edgewood's strong play at its own tournament over the weekend was enough to knock McFarland out of the top five, as the Crusaders placed right behind No. 4 Luxemburg-Casco.

St. Croix Falls was a single vote away from a unanimous No. 1 ranking in Division 3, with Howards Grove receiving the majority of the No. 2 votes yet again in Week 6. However, No. 3 McDonell's late tear has that Northwest Sectional shaping up to be a doozy come playoff time as the Macks continue to edge closer to the Tigers in the state rankings. At 29-0, Laconia is one of two remaining unbeatens in the state, while Barron displaces Lake Country Lutheran for a top five spot thanks to strength-of-schedule points after a battle with the Heart O'North rival Saints last Tuesday.

Ranked teams in Division 4 went a combined 26-2 last week alone, with one of those losses coming via another ranked D4 team. That said, there was very little change among the top teams in Week 6 with Columbus Catholic, Royall, Newman Catholic, Prentice, and Athens holding strong in order. Wonewoc-Center, up to No. 8 after picking up a total of six wins over the span of the week, joins Division 3's Laconia as the remaining two unbeaten teams in the state with two weeks remaining of the regular season.
